How did I get here?

It’s a very straightforward story actually…

I found myself staring down a future doing work that was unfulfilling to me and helped no one. So I decided it was time for a change.

My hodgepodge background of design, events, media and quiet creative activism was begging me to take a step back and look at the whole picture. I understood good design, how intelligent marketing can be used to tell a story effectively, and how community organizations and businesses could change in order for things to be better. This new understanding told me I wouldn’t make headway as a Graphic Designer, or Event Manager, or Marketer…

The title I was trying to grasp was that of the Creative Project Manager; the translator, organizer, pusher, or just the person with the details in mind.

To my excitement, I can apply every skill I have to every project I take on; all the while leaving structures and processes in my wake that make everyone better.

My skills are refreshingly diverse.

My skills are refreshingly diverse.

  • The beginning of my professional journey starts with a BS in Design and Communication. Good design exists at the heart of everything I do with the help of the vast opportunities I’ve had as a designer. I’ve worked in incredible spaces from award winning Commercial Exterior Signage in Arizona to an International Action Sports Brand. I have the useful knowledge of scaled construction drawings, print & digital design, packaging, and the importance of a strong brand.

  • One can find the core of my passion to help in the events i’ve worked on. I’ve held the titles of eager Volunteer, Operations Manager, Event Manager and even Event Director for the likes of Anime Conventions, Pop-Up Markets, Food Truck Rallies, Panel Discussions, Networking Events and Art Festivals. I’m versed in vendor and entertainment procurement, mapping, scheduling, and volunteer organization. My greatest accomplishment to date has been the planning and successful execution of the 2022 Juneteenth Celebration in Tempe, Arizona; a former sundown town.

  • My recorded Marketing experience was born directly from my design and event work. As I hit walls in telling the story of events in a beautiful manner, I found dealing with your average marketer to be exhausting. I became determined to look at marketing outside of SEO and KPI’s; skipping instead to the message and the community it’s for. Building an effective marketing strategy on a case by case basis and from a place of social impact rather than clicks has lead me down an incredibly effective storytelling path. But don’t worry, we’ll still fine-tune your web SEO, meet your KPI’s, and build an effective Editorial Calendar and Ad Plan as needed.

  • While I no longer wield a camera personally, an understanding of Event Photography, Videography, and the journey from edits to deliverables is one I understand thoroughly. I find joy in crafting clear and intentional Creative Briefs and Shot Lists that leave the magic of execution to the professionals. Having this skill set in my past allows me to understand the stresses and needs of a photographer in different settings, as well as the timelines, costs, and sheer skill involved with the editing process. I speak the creative’s language, and it really comes in handy.

  • The best communicators tell the best stories. But it’s more than being able to write and edit copy. Its understanding the tone of your project or event and the language of your audience. This includes understanding how the voice for a single entity can change from platform to platform, event to event. I’ve spoken on panels, written short form for web publications, introduced speakers, written short speeches and easy to follow talking points. I’ve had the most fun creating persona’s for the social space, allowing an entity to come alive in a way that makes users, customers and visitors feel safe and comfortable asking their questions, voicing their concerns, or sharing praise.
